The Birds!
This gallery is a collection of hummingbird photos taken primarily in the vicinity of Sierra Vista, and Portal, Arizona. Some images were taken in the San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California. These photos were taken under natural lighting conditions. Nine of the 13 resident North American species are featured, these include: Allens, Annas, Black Chinned, Broad Billed, Broad Tailed, Costas, Magnificent, Rufous, and White Eared hummingbirds.

Nests
This gallery follows the life progress of a pair of Annas hummingbird chicks, from newly hatched, through feeding and fledging, a period of about twenty five days. This particular nest was built on the tip of a palm frond. Hummingbirds are born without feathers and are completely dependent upon their mother in their early lives.
